Holistic Birth Support That Honors You
Serving Families Across York County with Compassionate, Full-Spectrum Care
From your first prenatal visit to your final postpartum check-in, I offer midwifery care that honors your body, your choices, and your story. I blend traditional wisdom with modern training to ensure every appointment, every question, and every moment is met with skilled, holistic support. My care is tailored to you — because every birth deserves to be seen, respected, and celebrated.
You Shouldn’t Have to Fight to Be Heard
Real Conversations. Real Care. No Rush.
I’ve heard so many stories from women who felt brushed off during their prenatal care — like they had to “go along” instead of being part of the process. That’s just not okay. I believe in slowing down, sitting together, and really listening. Every visit is your time to ask, share, and feel fully seen. This is your body, your baby, and your journey — and it deserves respect.
Meet Your Midwife — A Mother, A Guide, A Steady Hand
My name is Amanda Karlie, Certified Professional Midwife and founder of Moon Fern. My journey into birth work began in 2017 when I became a certified doula. It didn’t take long for me to realize I was called to walk even deeper with the families I served. I began my midwifery training in 2019 and have since had the privilege of supporting over 200 births and providing more than 1,000 prenatal and postpartum visits.
I blend time-honored traditions with modern, evidence-based care to offer support that is holistic, hands-on, and rooted in trust. As a mother of five myself, I understand just how powerful — and deeply personal — this season of life can be. It’s one of the greatest honors of my life to walk beside each client as they step into one of life’s most sacred and transformative journeys.

More Than Just Birth — Whole-Person Care
Your Wellness Matters at Every Stage
This isn’t just about getting through labor — it’s about feeling strong, supported, and well every step of the way. We take time to talk about your nutrition, energy levels, emotional well-being, and how your body’s adjusting as things grow and shift. Whether it’s herbal support, pelvic floor care, or just a safe space to process how you're really doing, our visits are about the full picture — not just your due date.

Many Women Leave the Hospital Feeling Rushed, Unheard, or Disconnected
There’s a growing awareness that hospital births don’t always leave mothers feeling supported. In fact, many women share that they felt rushed, pressured into decisions, or like they weren’t truly part of the process. That kind of experience can stay with you — long after the birth itself. My care is centered around slowing down, creating space for your voice, and making sure your choices are respected. Birth can be calm, connected, and deeply empowering — and that’s what I want for every mother I work with.
I’m Still Here After Baby Comes
Support doesn’t stop once the baby’s born. Those early weeks can feel like a whirlwind, and I’ll be checking in regularly — not just on the baby, but on you. Whether you need help with feeding, healing, rest, or just someone to talk to, I’ll still be here with the same care and presence you had during pregnancy.

Personalized Care That Meets You Where You Are
Every family, every pregnancy, and every birth is unique — and your care should reflect that. I offer flexible, compassionate support built around trust, informed choice, and your specific needs. From comprehensive prenatal visits to postpartum check-ins, water birth options, and holistic wellness support, you’ll find care here that honors your whole journey — not just the day your baby arrives.
Ongoing Prenatal Visits That Build Real Connectio
Our time together isn’t rushed or clinical — it’s personal and intentional. Prenatal visits are one hour long so we can truly check in on how you’re feeling physically, emotionally, and mentally. We'll track baby’s growth, talk through any concerns, and create a space where your voice is always heard. These visits grow into a relationship, not just a checklist.

Questions Are Welcome Here
Choosing your care provider is a big decision, and it’s natural to have a lot of questions. This is your body, your baby, and your experience — and you deserve clear, honest answers every step of the way. Below are some of the most common questions families ask when getting started. If you don’t see yours here, just reach out — I’m always happy to talk.
I primarily serve families in York County, PA, but I do attend births in parts of Lancaster County as well. If you’re nearby and wondering if I can come to you, just reach out — I’m happy to talk through the details and see if it’s a good fit.
I provide one-on-one care that includes regular check-ins, time to talk through your questions, and support that’s tailored to your needs. We’ll talk about everything from how your body’s feeling to how you’re preparing emotionally and physically for birth. Each visit is about more than measurements — it’s about making sure you feel heard and supported.
If something comes up that’s beyond what I offer, I’ll help guide you toward the right support — whether that’s a specialist, testing, or additional resources. My goal is always to walk with you and make sure you feel informed and cared for, every step of the way.
Yes! I offer something called monatrice care — it’s a blend of prenatal support and in-person labor guidance, even if you’re planning to deliver in the hospital. It gives you the continuity and connection of out-of-hospital care with the flexibility of your chosen birth location.
I don’t bill insurance directly for my services, but many lab tests and screenings can be covered through your provider. I’m happy to walk you through what that looks like and help you plan accordingly.
